1.) Dell Netbooks with Hindsite software and Rackspace email will be rolled out at Durez, Casco, and ADM on Monday April 25, 2011. Alan, Morris, Randy, and Jack will be scheduled and have their time recorded using Hindsite.
2.) The Behavior Based Safety Policy has been revised to read as follows:
Sam Young Electric Limited will use the following policy to encourage, reward, and reinforce a safe work behavior.
Every month random work sites will be visited by an appointed individual, who will be responsible for reviewing the work practices of our staff as is outlined on the accompanying Worker Safety Inspection Form. Each worker on that site will be evaluated and if found to be working safely according to our established safety policy & program, an incentive will be offered.
If a recurring safety infraction is noted (at any time), aside from the withholding of the safety incentive a second step will be taken in the form of a written warning. If the infraction is noted again, a third step will be a day off work without pay. Finally, if the infraction continues, the last and final step will be dismissal from the company.
3.) Clarify the Afternoon & Midnight shift rates (these are only used if you are working a scheduled shift at these times). If you work beyond a scheduled ‘day’ shift, it will be marked down as OT (not Aft or Mid shift).
4.) Our H&S Policies & Procedures are in place for two main reasons. First and foremost to ensure that we all go home each day without injury or disease. Secondly, is because our customers (more than ever before) have these expectations of us while we are on their sites. It is of utmost importance that we ‘practice what we preach’ (follow our own Policies & Procedures) because that is what they are expecting of us. We have had very positive feedback from our customers about our H&S program and it is in our best interest as a company to promote this aspect of our business. I expect each employee to follow our Policies & Procedures, and if it is felt that this cannot be accommodated for some reason, I need to know about it so we can discuss the details.
5.) We have work coming in at a rapid pace, and we are trying to hire to keep up.
